Tourism is the lifeblood of Escambia’s economy, but our infrastructure hasn’t kept pace with our popularity. The Pensacola Bay Center is a prime example; while it has served us well, it is aging out of competitiveness. Joe supports an ambitious whole-facility upgrade that transforms the Bay Center into a premier destination for mid-sized conventions and national touring acts. By modernizing our facilities, we can capture the revenue that is currently flowing to neighboring counties and reinvest those profits back into our local neighborhoods.

On our beaches, the focus must be on sustainability and resilience. We must treat our coastline as a vital economic engine that requires regular “maintenance.” This means secured funding for beach nourishment and the protection of our dunes, which act as our first line of defense against storms. Joe will advocate for smarter traffic management solutions on Perdido Key and Pensacola Beach to ensure that “getting there” isn’t a deterrent for tourists or a daily nightmare for locals.

Strategic investment also means diversifying what we offer to visitors. Joe will work to enhance our heritage tourism and ecotourism trails, linking our historic downtown assets with our natural wonders. By creating a seamless experience for visitors, we ensure that the “tourist dollar” circulates longer and deeper within our local economy, benefiting small businesses across District 4.
